Ihar Rynkevich Still Tries to Meet with Aliaksandr Kazulin
Ihar Rynkevich, the lawyer of the former candidate to presidency Aliaksandr Kazulin, has filed repeated inquiries with the administration of the prison where Mr Kazulin is kept. In his interview to BelaPAN he said: “I still haven’t received any written answers to my inquiries. I haven’t been informed why it was prohibited for me to meet with Kazulin and why in September he was made to meet with the Ambassador of Germany at cost of short-term meetings with relatives. All legal terms for answering are already over,’ Rynkevich pointed.
He hasn’t received an answer to his complaint to the penalty execution department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which he filed on 1 November. He complained against the decision of the prison’s head Vital Ahnistsikau to prohibit to him meetings with Aliaksandr Kazulin. According to Rynkevich’s information, soon V.Ahnistsikau intends to take a leave of absence from his job. During that period of time his duties will be implemented by the deputy head of the prison, Ruslan Pryimak. “I don’t know who will answer my inquiries, because the decision to prohibit the meetings was taken by V.Ahnistsikau,” said Rynkevich.
The former candidate to presidency and the head of the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) Aliaksandr Kazulin has been on a hunger-strike of protest for more than a month already. The prison administration doesn’t give any information about the state of his health. Siarhei Skrabets, who was released from this prison on 15 November, thinks that now Kazulin’s health must be nearly critical. The main demand of the hunger-strike is consideration of the situation with violations of human rights in Belarus at the UN Security Council.
