Homel Police Detains Participants of Solidarity Action and Passers-By
In the evening of October 16 Homel activists organized a monthly action of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners. Ten people participated in the action. After the action the police detained young activists. They took the young people to Centralny police department, recorded their data and let them go.
The police also detained several passers-by. Besides that, several people were detained on the way to the place of the action, reports Charter’97.
The action participants point out, that in the police station they were met by representatives of state security service in plain clothes. They searched the activists’ pockets without permission, used foul language and even beat some people, reports “Hart” youth organization.
The young activists were detained by major Pryshchepa, captain Nikitsin, and company commander Aleynik.
