Minsk: Belarusian Social-Democrats Attempt to Picket House of Parliament
According to BelaPAN
At 12 a.m. on 14 November Ales Abramovich, an activist of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Party (Hramada) Barysau, and Ales Hauruseu, a member of the Belarusian Social-Democratic Hramada, came to the Nezalezhnastsi Square (Square of Independence) and unrolled posters ‘Freedom to Kazulin and other political prisoners’ and ‘Freedom to Dashkevich and Seviarynets’. The picketers stood there for about a minute. Then the guards of the House of Parliament approached them and confiscated the posters without detaining the action participants. In his conversation with journalists Mr Abramovich described it as a ‘complete victory’ and stated that similar actions of solidarity will go on till the release of political prisoners. We should remind that for a similar protest action held by Abramovich on 26 October near the Presidential administration he was sentenced to 15 days of jail.
