Vitsebski Kur’er Not Included in Subscription Catalogue

The state enterprise Belposhta (Belarusian Post) has refused to include an independent newspaper Vitsebski Kur’er M in the subscription catalogue 2007. ‘The law does not oblige us to include all the existing editions in our subscription catalogue. That is why it is up to us to decide what editions can be included in it,’ – answered Iryna Astrouskaia (the head of the publishing centre Marka). She stressed that Vitsiebski Kur’er M had not been included in the subscription catalogue because of the existing law.

’Vitsiebski Kur’er M applied to its readers and asked them to demand the realization of their right to receive the edition and send their complaints to Belposhta’s address’, said the edition’s editor-in-chief Uladzimir Bazan in his interview with the BAJ Press Service.

Let us remind you that at the beginning of 2006 Vitsebsk branch of Belposhta cancelled the contract for distribution with Vitsiebski Kur’er M. Not long before, at the end of 2005, the edition had been included in the subscription catalogue.
