More Belarusian Democrats Detained on the Way to Ukraine

At about 2 p.m. on 5 November the traffic police of Dobrush stopped the car of Valery Rybchanka, the chairman of Zhlobin regional organization of the Party of Communists of Belarus.
The leader of Homel regional organization of the Party of Communists of Belarus Uladzimir Siakerka, the heads of regional branches of the oppositional Communists from Svetlahorsk and Rahachou Sviatlana Mikhalchanka and Viktar Paulau were travelling with Rybchanka in his car. They all were heading for the border crossing Tserakhauka to go to the Ukraine for a seminar with participation of Belarusian opposition activists.
The traffic policemen ordered Rybchanka to go to Dobrush regional police department for an examination because the car allegedly had wrong number plates. However, within three hours the car hadn’t been checked. Inspectors claimed that experts were not available then. Oppositionists have made an entry in a complaint book of Dobrush regional police department and left for Ukraine. Valery Rybchanka’s car is in Dobrush is now guarded by the local police.
