Today the activist of the Union of Poles in Belarus Andzhei Lisouski has been summoned for interrogation to Hrodna regional customs office again. Lisouski had signed an undertaking to come for interrogations on demand during investigative actions in the criminal case brought up on charges of drugs trafficking. The Charter’97 press center has been informed about that by the UPB activist Andzhei Pachobut.

Yesterday Andzhei Lisouski was served upon a decree that he is a suspect in drugs trafficking through the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. After the questioning the police took Lisouski home for a search. Nothing was found in his apartment.

Anzhalika Borys and several UPB activists were detained at Belarusian-Lithuanian border on 29 October. She was detained as a packet with an unknown white powder had been allegedly found in her car. Hrodna regional customs office has opened a criminal case on drugs trafficking charges. As informed by the State Customs Committee of Belarus, that ‘unidentified powder’ was heroin.

The UPB activists called those events ‘a provocation of the Belarusian law-enforcing agencies’ and stated that they had no relation to it.
