Local Election: Opposition Representatives Fail to Become Members of Territorial Election Commissions
That was reported on October 23 at the session of campaign managers of the opposition political parties.
Head of UCP campaign HQ Anatol Paulau told BelaPAN, the opposition political parties nominated over 100 representatives to the territorial election commissions. “We think that confirms the well-known statement. There will be no real election in Belarus”, -- says A. Paulau.
Today election campaign managers discussed training of candidates to the local councils, and a system of legal assistance to them. In particular, UCP and BPF claim they are ready to provide their lawyers who can give legal advice to opposition candidates.
The authorities have formed over 1,5 thousand election commissions, each composed of 7-11 (lower level commissions) and 9-13 (basic level commissions) members.
