According to Liubou Laurukovich, Brest owners of taxi minibuses are ready to restart the hunger strike. The reason is the refusal of the Interagency Commission on economic sanctions reversal, which exempted from taxes only entrepreneurs who hadn’t been challenging taxes in the court.

As the Decree # 40 will be cancelled only in the beginning of the next year, five owners of taxi cars who had passed all court levels have to pay according to the ruling of the commission. As said by Laurukovich, neither the regional executive committee, nor Brest tax inspection or Economic court has issued any directive concerning this case. But as soon as a new summons would be received by entrepreneurs, a protest would be renewed.

As we have informed, entrepreneurs have held a hunger strike in summer this year. The strikers demanded to overturn the ruling of tax agencies. Hunger strikers refused to pay the fee for using means of transportation in business activities paid by owners of cars imported to Belarus before 2004. The republican tax was imposed by a presidential decree in 2004, and the owners of taxi cars had imported cars in Belarus much earlier.
