Young Front Holds Picket in Support of Political Prisoners in Salihorsk
On 8 October activists of the unregistered youth organization Young Front held a picket in support of political prisoners. They hanged out the banners ‘Belarus is not a prison’ and ‘Freedom to political prisoners’ near the central square and handed out to passers-by flyers with information about the political prisoners Zmitser Dashkevich and Pavel Krasouski. They fly-sheets also called on the people to participate in the action of solidarity with political prisoners on 16 October and write letters to Dashkevich and Krasouski.
Zmitser Dashkevich was arrested on 15 September and is kept in an investigative isolator. He is charged with activity on behalf of unregistered organization. Pavel Krasouski was detained last week and is groundlessly accused of involvement into the preparation of the explosions that happened in Vitsebsk on 14 and 22 September 2005.
