The vice-Chairman of the European Parliament Mario Mauro has sent a letter to the Belarusian government, asking Aliaksandr Lukashenka ‘to consider the formal desire of the little girl to stay in Italy, in the family of Giusto – Bonarcin’.
Mario Mauro calls upon the Belarusian leader ‘to demonstrate his love for Vika Maroz’, RFE/RL informs with the reference to Corriere della Sera.
Earlier the Vice Chairman of the European Parliament Mario Mauro urged to discuss the situation of the underage living in Belarus at the European level.
As we have informed, recently Vika Maroz was returned to Belarus accompanied by diplomatic officers. Family Giusto – Bonarcin who were the girls’ host family in Italy, hadn’t been even allowed to bid farewell to the girl. ‘It seems as if they have forgotten us’, Alessandro Giusto stated. ‘Belarus should feel ashamed’.
