In the morning of 4 October in Navapolatsk the member of the Conservative Christian party Belarusian People’s Front Anatol Kulik announced a hunger strike to show solidarity with the imprisoned politician Aliaksandr Kazulin.
’When I learnt about the address of the political prisoner Aliaksandr Kazulin to the citizens of our Belarus, and about his intention to start an indefinite hunger strike since 20 October, and to show my support to him and other political prisoners, I go on a hunger strike on 4 October. It is my contribution to the struggle carried out by our liberal-minded youth and intellectuals. We should support the people ready to give their lives for our Belarus, maybe by other actions.’
As said by Anatol Kulik, his hunger strike is to continue until 20 October. In April the activist of the Conservative Christian party was on a three-day hunger strike protesting against violations of the Constitution during the presidential election.
