The youth activist Artur Finkevich who is serving a sentence in a corrective facility in Mahiliou was hospitalized today to the 1st city hospital. BelaPAN was informed about that by the public activist Krystsina Shatsikava.
According to her Mr Finkevich was hospitalized to a contagious isolation ward. ‘Recently A. Finkevich’s feet were operated. Though he was to stay in the hospital after the operation, policemen took them away. In the room where Finkevich lives a window is broken. The temperature inside is the same as outside. Naturally, Finkevich’s illnesses aggravated. It is forbidden to visit him. The only thing possible is to wave a hand to his ward’s window,’ K. Shatsikava said.

On 10 May the youth leader has been sentenced to two years of restriction of liberty (so-called corrective labor) by the court of Pershamaiski Borough of Minsk. For making the graffiti ‘We want a new one!’ he was found guilty of violation of the article 339 part 2 of the Criminal Code (malicious hooliganism).
