News about Criminal Cases against Young Front Activists

Recently the activists of Young Front Barys Haretski and Aleh Korban received official confirmation from the Prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Belarus that the cases that had been brought against them in spring 2006 by the KGB department on struggle against terrorism. We should remind that the KGB department brought more than 10 criminal cases against different persons for activity on behalf of the unregistered organization Young Front. All of them have been already stopped, except for the case against one of the leaders, Zmitser Dashkevich. Since 15 September he has been kept in the investigative isolator in Valadarski Street in Minsk.

According to the information of the defense lawyer Aliaksandr Haliieu, Prosecutor General has passed his case to Minsk City Court. At present the case is at Minsk Kastrychnitski Borough Court. Dashkevich’s state is satisfactory and he doesn’t complain about the conditions in which he is kept.
