Another Complaint to UN Human Rights Committee
Ales Dzierhachou, a democratic activist from the town of Smarhon, failed to find justice in Belarusian judicial system. He plans to file a complaint to the UN Committee for Human Rights.
It took the Supreme Court 6 months to consider Dzerhachou’s complaint. During the elections Dzerhachoo was an activist of headquarters of the single democratic candidate Alexander Milinkevich. He was detained for 5 days on a charge of posting leaflets at an unauthorized location and resisting the polixce officers.
The Supreme Court responded to Dzerhachou that the verdict was fair and objective, as it had been based on the evidence of three police officers. The response does not mention other witnesses who insisted on the opposite.
Now the local activist plans to fiel a complaint to the UN Committee for Human Rights, reports RFE/RL.
