Homel Region: Customs Officers Confiscate Newspapers and Books from Belarusian Social-Democratic Hramada
According to RFE/RL
On 6 September workers of the Tserakhouka border crossing (situated in Dobrush district of Homel region) confiscated newspapers and books from the members of Belarusian Social Democratic Hramada who were returning to Babruisk from the Ukraine. The editor of the newspaper Pamiats i suchasniki Valiantsin Pabortsau carried 150 copies of the edition. Its printing in the Ukraine started after the printing houses of Babruisk refused to print it.
Together with the newspaper Mr Pabortsau had the signal copies of the books Why Lukashenka Loves Stalin and Lynching, the latter being a chronicle of the trial over Aliaksandr Kazulin. The customs officers confiscated these books together with the CDs that contained their bodies and lay-outs in electronic variant. All this production has been under arrest since 25 August. However, the customs officers still don’t respond to the owner’s claims to return the confiscated items.
