On 10 August the Foreign Ministry of Poland condemned the verdict passed to the activists of the unregistered NGO Partnership.

The verdict was called ˜a result of political decision’ and an example of harsh limitation of the freedom of social activity’. ˜It’s continuation of the policy we have been calling upon the Belarusian regime to stop many times. We demand to annul all politically motivated sentences, and to release arrested democratic oppositionists,’ the statement of the Polish Foreign Ministry reads.

On August 4 the court of Tsentralny district of Minsk passed a verdict to the four Partnership activists. Mikalai Astreika was sentenced to 2 years in a minimum-security correctional labour facility, Tsimafei Dranchuk to one year of minimum-security correctional labour facility, Aliaksandr Shalaika and Enira Branitskaia to 6 months of imprisonment.
