United Civil Party demands apologies from KGB, prosecutors office and state TV
On 8 August United Civil Party issued a public statement in which it demanded from KGB, the Prosecutors Office of the Republic of Belarus and the heads of the Belarusian state TV channels to offer to millions of electors public apologies for the disinformation concerning preparation of terrorist acts with participation of Partnership members and oppositional parties that had been spread during the presidential election.
UCP also suggests that prosecutor general Piatro Miklashevich and KGB chair Stsiapan Sukharenka resign from the occupied seats as being responsible for the provocations that were voiced and implemented during the electoral campaign.
The party also calls on the international community to consider imposing sanctions on the judge Leanid Iasinovich and the prosecutor Andrei Mihun who took part in the politically motivated trial of Mikalai Astreika, Enira Branitskaia, Tsimafei Dranchuk and Aliaksandr Shalaika.
