Mahilou Town Authorities Demanded Payment For Rent Of Land Where Trade Union Picket To Be Held

Mahilou officials demanded from members of Belarusan trade union of radio and electronic industry to pay for the rent of land where the workers planned to organize a protest picket against refusal to register local branch of trade unions. The applications were sent to executive committees of Minsk, Hrodna, Gomel and Mahilou. The activists also had to pay for services of doctors and police. The administration of culture and leisure centre informed the action initiators that the latter should submit consent of the town authorities to hold action and the receipt of payment for rent of territory.
Leader of Belarusan trade union of radio and electric industry Henadz Fiadynich noted that they will collect all necessary documents for picketing but then they will apply to court and litigate the legality of authorities demands.
