Riot Police Disbanded “Live Chain” Commemorating 6th Year Of ORT Operator Dzmitry Zavadski
On July 7 the activists of oppositional political parties and youth organizations gathered at Kastrychnickaja Square to commemorate 6th year of disappearance of Dzmitry Zavadski who was probably kidnapped. The riot police interfered with the action “Solidarity in the name of freedom” and forced the “live chain” out of square. They pushed people to Victory Square. Supporters of Alaksandr Kazulin who came to the action in T-shirts with his portrait were forced out to Palace of Trade Unions.
When the action participants went into the subway the police disappeared and the people returned to the square and stood there for an hour with the portraits of Zavadski.
About dozen of people were detained, the police confiscated badges ?#152;for freedom’ and national flags. Three hours later the participants were set free, reports Radio Liberty.
