Switzerland supports EU sanctions

Switzerland has imposed financial sanctions against 36 Belarusian officials. According to the statement by the Internal Affairs and Economic Department of the Swiss government, Swiss individuals or financial bodies, which co-operated with Belarus or possess information on two-sided contacts, should immediately inform the organs that are in charge of implementing sanctions.
The Belarusian issue was touched upon for several times at the PACE session in Strasbourg. PACE president Rene van der Linden said he was going to visit Belarus this September. He also spoke against full isolation of Belarus.
