On June 5 a record was drawn up for Viachaslau Hancharenkas unauthorized organizing a mass in inappropriate premises
Several police officers came to the building of the church New Life demanding to produce a permission to hold a mass on Sunday, June 4. After a conversation with the pastor, the officers summonsed him to Moscow Borough Board of Internal Affairs. There on June 5 a record was drawn up for unauthorized organizing a mass in inappropriate premises, reported Charter 97.
At the same time the church New Life applied to the Economical Court of Minsk a couple of days ago. There the believers demanded to inform Minsk City Executive Committee about making the building at Kavaliova St. 74 a religious one.
The authorities have refused to make the building a religious one for four years already, attributing this to the detailed plan of the construction in the village of Sukharava, adopted in 1999.
According to the churchs lawyer Siarhei Lukanin, the decision to apply to the court was made after the last trial. There they discovered that the detailed plan was not relevant in law, since at the time of its creation the territory was situated in Minsk District.
Thus, Minsk City Executive Committee has no right to neglect this says S.Lukanin.
