In Warsaw, a capital of Poland, in Pilsudski Square, a mass was celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI. Hundreds thousands of people gathered on the square. About two or three thousands of Belarusian pilgrims with national white-red-white flags and emblems of their cities took part in the mass, the Radio Svaboda informs.

The Belarusians were visible in the multitude of people. All TV channels noted their presence.

At about 11.20 a.m. Minsk time a prayer in Belarusian was read from the altar. A Belarusian student from Warsaw Zmitser Hurnevich was reading the prayer. He is a former political prisoner of Minsk prison in Akrestsin Street. It was a prayer for freedom and dignity of people whose rights are violated.

Remembering that people of different nations and races are one family, we pray for freedom and respect of dignity of every person, especially in those countries where the civil rights are violated and limited, so that nobody would suffer from oppression, discrimination and insult, these are the words from the prayer.
