Navapolatsk: Democratic Activists Start Series of Pickets

The local activists of democratic organizations of Navapolatsk have started a series of pickets against the increase of the costs of public utilities, the contract system of employment and the imprisonment of the former candidate to presidency Aliaksandr Kazulin.

The first picket was held on 3 May, the second - on 4 May. The picketers gather signatures under the appeal to the prosecutor general and the prime-minister. However, it is not an easy thing to do. The matter is that the executive committee permitted to hold the picket in the local park, which is almost empty. The authorities didn’t permit the picketing on 1 and 9 May, though many people rest there on these holidays. Nevertheless, the activists intend to continue the picketing and have already applied to Navapolatsk City Executive Committee with the request to define another place for their actions.
