Stanislau Shushkevich Wasn’t Able to Come to Court
On 1 May, after the end of the actio of solidarity with political prisoners the car of Stanislau Shushkevich, chair of the Supreme Soviet of the 12th Convocation Stanislau Shushkevich, was blocked by the police. They made him go out of the car and handed a summons to Minsk Pershamaiski Borough Board of Internal Affairs for 3 May. We should remind that more than a thousand people gathered on 1 Mary near the Academy of Sciences. The police detained from them to disperse and proposed to gather in Druzhby Narodau Park. Stanislau Shushkevich called the people to make a procession to Banhalor Square. The policemen approached him and warned that it was a violation of the public order. He answered that he had the right to walk in any streets he would like to in his city.
The former candidate to the presidential position Aliaksandr Milinkevich was invited to a high-level council that was to take place in Vilnius. However, he, together with Aliaksandr Bukhvostau, Zmitser Dashkevich, Sairhei Kaliakin, Vintsuk Viachorka, was sentenced to administrative imprisonment and taken to the detention center in Akrestsin Street to serve it there. That’s why Kaliakin’s colleagues proposed to him to go to the council instead of Milinkevich, which Shushkevich successfully did. As a result, he didn’t come to the police.
