Minsk: Police Detain People Who Lay Flowers in Kastrychnitskaia Square and Inflate Baloons

In the evening of 11 April in Kastrychnitskaia Square special police forces Alena Dzemidouskaia, Iauhen Ioksha, Volha Korsak, Anton Smolich, Sviatlana Tsimkouskaia and Siarhei Zhuk who wanted to lay flowers to the central milestone of Belarus that is situated in the square. Among the detainees there were some defenders of the tent camp who have been recently released from jail.

In the evening of 12 April the special police forces in plain clothes detained near the memorial to the veterans of the war in Afghanistan Isle of Tears 10 persons for inflating white balloons. The detainees were pulled into a bus and driven to a police station. There they were kept for an hour. The police put down the passport data of the detainees and then released them. One of the detainees, Aliaksandr Dzeishchyts, was beaten.
