Pensioner Sviatlana Mikhalchanka heads Svietlahorsk branch of the oppositional Party of Communists of Belarus. During the election period she spread Milinkevich’s promotion materials. The local court fined her 3 basic units (around 45 USD) for that. Mrs. Mikhalchanka says that is one third of her pension. However, she is not going to stop her public activity.
RFE/RL reports the same very day Svetlahorsk court fined 45 USD another member of Milinkevich’s team – Viktar Akhramchuk.
