Vitsebsk Region: Arrests and Fines
According to RFE/RL
At 9.40 p.m. on 17 March in Vitsebsk the police detained the chair of Vitsebski city electoral headquarters of Aliaksandr Milinkevich Chrystafor Zhaliapau. The road police stopped his car, ordered the two women whom he was driving to their places to go out. Then they ordered Mr Zhaliapau to follow their car.
The chair of Vitsebsk regional branch of the United Civil Party Alena Zaleskaia, who was near during Zhaliapau’s detention, said the policemen had pretensions to the technical state of his car.
The same day in Hlybokaie district of Vitsebsk region the agitator for Milinkevich Iury Buka was fined 155 000 rubles. He was detained in the village of Hataushchyna, because a ‘vigilant citizen’ noticed in his hands Enough! flyers (that weren’t a part of Milinkevich’s agitation campaign) and phoned to the police. At first the police drove Mr Buka to a police station, than to Hlybokaie District Procurator’s Office, where the report on distribution of printed materials without data-line was composed.
