Dzedzich Fund Faces Liquidation

Activists of the fund of support of youth initiatives Dzedzich received a letter from the head of the justice board of Brest Regional Executive Committee Kalinouski. In this letter he proposed to them to apply to Brest Regional Court with the statement about self-liquidation.

In the letter it was stated they needed to do it in accordance with the presidential decree #302 of 1 July 2005 About certain measures on regulation of the activity of funds. By 1 February 2006 all funds had to introduce certain changes to their statutes to make them conform to the decree. Dzedzich didn’t do it.

Dzmitry Shymanski, chair of the fund, said that Dzedzich deliberately didn’t re-register its statute because there were no hopes it would be re-registered. He also stated the fund wouldn’t apply to the court, because the real initiative of the liquidation comes from the state.
