On 3 March the international human rights organization Reporters without Borders issued a statement to condemn the detention and beating of at least nine journalists who watched the detention of the candidate to presidency Aliaksandr Kazulin. Two of the journalists, including a corresponded of the newspaper Komsomolaskaya Pravda v Belorussii, were taken to a hospital. Reporters without Borders pointed the electoral campaign in Belarus was conducted in a fearful climate and was accompanied with violations of civil liberties and democratic norms.
