More that three hundred people took part in the action of Solidarity

The majority of people who took part in the action of Solidarity that took place on February 16, in the center of Minsk are represented by young people. The people held candles and jeans ribbons. Exactly this color was chosen by the young people as the symbol of changes. Some of the young people came from the regions. There were also people of old age.
At the beginning of the action the officers of special service detained 16 people who were standing opposite the building of KGB. Then they started so-called moping up at Kastrychnitskaya square. Plainly dressed special service agents started to force the people to a skate rink. The people were forced to go to the church that is located at Svaboda square. Some people were detained during this actions and were forced into a car. An activist of the Young Front Barys Haretski was among them.
About twenty people were kept in the detention center in Marx street. When the other members approached to the place, they were forced from the street in the direction of Skaryna Avenue. When a bus drove of the building some of the participants tried to prevent its movement by they were forced from the street. The people were chanting: “Shame on you!“ The bus with the detained drove off to the applause.
The leader of the youth movement Zubr Aleh Miatselitsa and two activists of he Young Front Aleh Korban and Barys Haretski, who had been detained during the break up of the peaceful action spent the night at the police station: Aleh Miatselitsa – in Partisanski Borough Department of Internal Affairs, the Young Front activists – in Tsentralny Borough Department of Internal Sffairs. They are going to be brought to trial today.
It is known that Aleh Miatselitsa is accused of violating Article 156 of the Administrative Code of Belarus – disorderly conduct.
