Pavel Batueu’s Flat Is Searched
According to RFE/RL
The activist of democratic movement Pavel Batueu was abroad, when the police searched his flat in Salihorsk with procurator’s sanction. Pavel Batueu prepares an inquiry to the procurator’s office concerning the legality of this action.
Pavel Batueu is a figurant of the criminal case that has been brought against Dzmitry Kaspiarovich, who is charged with tearing the state flag from the building of Minsk City Executive Committee.
Let us remind that the police detained D. Kaspiarovich, P. Batueu and Dzmitry Haurusik on 17 January. Mr. Kaspiarovich is still in custody as a suspect in malignant hooliganism and outrage of state symbols.
Here’s Batueu’s commentary:
-- My father said that the man who searched the flat told him he was looking for fly-sheets and brochures. Pitifully enough, my father doesn’t know much about jurisprudence, that’s why he demanded neither a copy of the search report, nor a copy of the procurator’s sanction.
