In Minsk the police detained four collectors of signatures in support of the presidential candidate Zianon Pazniak

Radio Liberty reported that on 22 January the Minsk police detained collectors of signatures in support of the presidential candidate Zianon Pazniak: the head of the initiative group Siarhei Papkou, and Tatsiana Tsiatsiorkina, Anhelina Masiuta and Valieryia Zabrodzina, who were distributing information about popular voting in the underground passage outside the railroad station and in the passage of the Metro station “Institute of Culture”. They were taken to Kastrychnitski Borough Department of Police.
Iuras Bielienki, a member of the initiative group, said that Siarhei Papkou was requested to provide explanations, and the police made an administrative report on Ms Masiuta for distributing information without imprint. According to Mr. Bielienki, psychological pressure is applied against the signature collectors and the detention was illegal.
