Pavel Seviarynets Cuts Wood
On 11 January the political prisoner Pavel Seviarynets who was kept at the open prison of the village of Malae Sitna (Vitsebsk region) was directed to cut wood. According to the press-service of the Young Front, last week there disappeared the only possibility to phone to Seviarynets. On Monday the chair of the penal colony deprived the prisoner of his legal right to visit Vitsebsk (according to the law Seviarynets has the right to do it once a month). Only when Pavel Seviarynets threatened to start a strike, the colony administration issued to him the leave of absence starting from 19 January.
These days the politician was directed to cut wood. His father, Kasntantsin Seviarynets stated:
-- The chair of the penal colony Aliaksandr Henadzievich Lilin is personally responsible for the health of my son. In the case anything happens, he will bear personal responsibility for it.
