Independent trade unions received permission from Minsk City Executive Committee to hold a regular congress
Just like with the Congress of Democratic Forces of Belarus who have not been able to receive permission to rent premises for the event, the Belarusian Congress of Independent Trade Unions, after repeated visits to those in charge, finally received permission from Minsk City Executive Committee to hold their regular sixth congress. The forum of independent trade unions will take place on December 4 in the Minsk International Educational Center.
At the beginning, the plan was to hold the regular session of the BCITU on November 12, then – on November 17. However, the executive authorities did not allow the rental of the premises. And only after public statements regarding the possibility of the congress held outside the country, Minsk City Executive Committee allowed it to be held in Belarus.
The BCITU congress plans to bring about 100 delegates together. The independent trade unions expect guests from the International Labor Organization, the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions, national trade union centers of Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Lithuania and Germany.
