Human Rights Center Viasna Expresses Its Sympathy to Viktar Hanchar’s Relatives in Connection with His Mother’s Death

On 29 October Valiantsina Hanchar, mother of the missing politician Viktar Hanchar, passed away. She didn’t manage to see her son alive and find out what happened to him till death.

“Please, pity my age and my motherly heart, don’t let me die without seeing my son”, -- she applied to Belarusian authorities after the disappearance of Viktar Hanchar. – “ Don’t keep silent if you remember the bland hands of your mothers, their eyes, smiles and laughter, if you have a dash of humanity and honesty, if you have children whom you value more than your lives, if you believe in God and the eternal kingdom of justice”.

Human Rights Center mourns the death of Valiantsina Hanchar and expresses its sympathy for her relatives. We are sure that soon the truth about Viktar Hanchar’s fate will be revealed and the persons guilty in the crime and sufferings of his friends and relatives will be punished.
