The Contemporary Knowledge Institute founded in 1990 was the first non-budget higher education establishment that trained specialists in the fields of economy, humanities, law, teaching and arts. The institute employed 22 professors and 128 associate professors. The institute had three branches – in Brest, Vitsebsk and Hrodna. This year they were closed by an order issued by the Ministry of Education.
30 instructors of this educational establishment want the court to recognize as invalid the termination of the employment agreement. They demand money compensation for what the material damages they suffered during the period of unemployment.
The court will deal with the suits by the instructors during several days.
