On 8 May the sale of Borisovskie Novosti newspaper stopped at Barysau supermarkets. On 1 May the state newsstands stopped accepting it. Besides, on 1 June the sale of the newspaper will be stopped at post offices of Barysau.
The clear-up of independent press from the places where it was sold started after the ideological department of Barysau City Executive Committee collected information about the ways of distribution of non-state editions of the city. According to the monitoring service of Belarusian Association of Journalists, since the beginning of March a worker of the ideological department phoned to editors of newspapers and asked them about the ways their editions were distributed.
