This is the information provided by pahonia.promedia.by. Back on 7 September 2004 the court found both businessmen guilty of publicly degrading Aliaxandr Lukashenka by implicating him in a grievous felony (Article 368 part 2 of the Criminal Code). The Borough Court sentenced Levaneuski and Vasilieu to two years in prison each. Such a strict verdict was based on the following phrase in the 1 May flyer: “Come and say you are against anyone going to Austria for vacation, skiing there and generally relaxing as they like”, which, according to the investigators and the court, undermines the dignity of Aliaxandr Lukashenka.
Deputy Chair of the Supreme Court Kalinkovich responded to the Aliaxandr Birylau’s appeal submitted on 14 February. The Supreme Court believed that the protest was ungrounded and upheld the ruling passed by the Leninski Borough Court of Hrodna. True, Valery Levaneuski and Aliaxandr Vasilieu themselves filed appeals against the ruling of the Leninski Borough Court of Hrodna. Within a month they should get a response.
