Rector of Polatsk State University Detains BSA Member for Day of Freedom Congratulations

Aliaxei Trubkin, member of the Belarusian Students’ Association came to the rector’s office of the Polatsk State University to congratulate the staff on the Day of Freedom. He had leaflets containing information about the meaning of this Day in the history and statehood of Belarus. Mr. Lazouski, University Rector, asked the young man if he could stay for a while, and called university security (students’s body) and police in the meantime.

Before the police arrived, A.Trubkin was kept in Deputy Rector Belarusava’s office which was later visited by Tsygankou, Deputy Rector for Ideology.

Police made a report registering an administrative violation committed by the BSA activist by terms of Art. 172 part 3 of the Code of Administrative Offences (distribution of printed materials without imprint).
