Participants of “Procession of Homeless Students” To Be Tried on 28 September
At 5.40 p.m. on 16 September the police stopped about 30 participants the “Procession of Homeless Students” near a building that belonged to the physical faculty of Belarusian State University. The students carried in their hands blankets, pots, boilers and other things symbols of student life. The police burst at the students who carried a camp bag with the slogan “Winter is near and we have no home here” and detained three of them: Siarhey Semianiuk, member of the board of Belarusian Student Association, Yury Sidun, BSA system administrator and Ales Vasilewski. At 9 p.m. they were charged with violation of article No. 166 of the Code of Administrative Violations – resistance during detention. The trial of the detainees started at 10 a.m. on 17 September. All of them solicited for advocatory services. That’s why the trial was postponed to 2 p.m. on 28 September.
