BPF Activist Has to Quit Participation in Parliamentary Election
On 3 September the head of Lahoysk District Executive Committee Nestserkow met with the director of the “Minauto” firm Kireychuk. He said that if the worker of the firm Shevel didn’t refuse from participation in the election by 7 September the firm would be liquidated.
As a result Shevel had to take back the documents for his registration as a candidate to the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus from Lahoysk district election commission No. 82. On the other hand, he applied to prosecutor’s office, asking to consider the abuse of official powers by the head of Lahowski DEC Nestserkow. In his application to the district election commission Shevel wrote:
“I ask to return to me the documents I filed for registration due to the fact that the head of Lahoysk District Executive Committee Mr. Nestserkow threats to close the enterprise where I work if I don’t refuse from participation in the election.”
However, having consulted Central Election Commission, the head of Lahoysk circuit election commission Kresik refused to return the documents, saying that only the assembly of the commission could solve the question. At present tax inspection is checking the income declaration, filed by Shevel.
