On August 10, 2004 members of Siarhei Salash’s initiative group filed a complaint to the Central Election Commission. The team of the local leader faced pressure and blackmailing on the stage of initiative group registration. As the result of blackmail one member of his initiative group was forced to write a statement that she had joined the team under pressure from Salash. In the opinion of the district election commission this violates the principle of the free participation in elections.
The Central Election Commission has three days to consider the complaint. If the complaint is not satisfied, it will go to the Supreme Court.
