Andrei Kozel, activist of United Civic Party, was detained in the evening of April 26, after the end of Chernobyl March. He spent the night in Akrestsina detention center.
On 27 April Savetski borough court of Minsk Judge Natalla Skuharova sentenced him to 7 days of jail. Andrei Kozel was found guilty under Art 167.1 part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offences (violation of order of holding mass events). The UCP activist could have been officially warned or fined 20-150 basic units. Instead, the judge decided he deserved a jail sentence.
