Supreme Court Decided to Liquidate Belarusian Union of Young Politicians
Court agreed to all charges of the Ministry of Justice against the organization. Judge Filimanikhina found all the pretensions of the Ministry to Belarusian Union of Young Politicians grounded and decided to liquidate the organization. She considered the facts that the association had no juridical address for almost two years, used inappropriate seal and failed to timely change the title of “president” to “head” as law violations.
Representatives of Belarusian Union of Young Politicians tried to file a countersuit against the Ministry of Justice, but the suit wasn’t accepted. The head of the association Aliaksandr Tsynkevich said that despite of the liquidation the activists of the association weren’t going to stop their public and political activity.
Belarusian Association of Young Politicians is one of the oldest public organizations of Belarus. It was established in 1992 as Association of Political Activists of the Republic of Belarus on the initiative of a number of deputies of the Supreme Soviet of the 12th Convocation. In 2000 it was registered As Belarusian Association of Young Politicians on decision of the Supreme Court.
