Prosecutor’s Office Suspends Investigation of Zmitser Zavadski’s Case again
Public Prosecutor’s Office again suspended investigation of the criminal case about abduction of Dzmitry Zavadski, Belarusian journalist who disappeared without trace on 7 July 2000. Charter’97 learned that from the representative of Zavadski’s family Harry Pahaniayla. The message about suspension of the action, signed by Ivan Branchel, deputy head of Department for Investigation of Organized Crime and Corruption Cases, says the investigation is suspended on 31 March “in conjunction with failure to discover the missing person”.
It has been far not the first suspension of the action on Zavadski’s abduction. Last time the action was resumed on 10 December 2003. The family of Dzmitry Zavadski does not understand why the authorities have resumed the case only to suspend it once again.
