Zmitser Dashkevich, activist of Young Front, was detained on Sunday, 28 March, at the border crossing Kamenny Loh, reports RFE/RL. Belarusian customs officers kept him for 3 hours and confiscated Young Front documents and promotion leaflets.
Zmitser Dashkevich, 2nd year student at Belarusian Linguistics Department of Vilnius University traveled by bus from the Lithuanian capital to Minsk. At the border crossing several Belarusian customs officers approached him and asked to show his luggage. As the result, the officers confiscated a draft organization strategy paper, worked out by Dashkevich, and a few copies of Young Front newsletter. The customs officers informed Dashkevich they would send the newsletters to a prosecutor’s office which would examine it for any information insulting honor and dignity of Alexander Lukashenka.
