According to the press service of Belarusian Association of Journalists, in the evening of 17 March the officer of Homel Chyhunachny Borough Court Siarhey Tsiatsera attacked the asset of the correspondent of "Belorusskaya Delovaya Gazeta" in Homel region Iryna Makavetskaya, executing the decision of Minsk Kastrychnitski Borough Court of 1 October 2003 to exact from the journalist 300 000 rubles in favor of the investigator of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus Viachaslaw Tserakhovich.

The court officer attached furniture and some other things in the journalist's flat, which he considered to cost 410 000 rubles. The total sum which he is to exact from the journalist is about 500 000 rubles. Beside the compensation to the investigator, Iryna Makavetskaya is to pay 82 000 rubles as a court fee, 5% of the exacted sum to pay for "forcible execution of the sentence" and 20% for the sale of her asset. She is also to pay for the work of the porters and drivers who will take her furniture and other things to a special shop where they will be sold. At present the attached things are still at I. Makavetskaya's flat.

We should remind that the major investigator of especially important cases of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus V. Tserakhovich filed a suit on protection of honor, dignity and business reputation in 2002, expressing his dissent with a number of articles by I. Makavetskaya about the investigation of the criminal case of the rector of Homel Medical Institute Yury Bandazhewski and the provost Uladzimir Rawkow that were published in "BDG" in 2001-2002. The plaintiff demanded to disprove the information and exact from the journalist 10 million rubles as a compensation for moral harm. The trial lasted more than a year.
