Barysaw “Stop Lukamol!” Action Ends with Detentions

On 10 March about 50 persons took part in the action that took place in the central square of Barysaw. The leader of Barysaw “Zubr” Aliaksandr Monich read an appeal to the authorities with the demand to stop forcible joining of youth to pro-governmental Belarusian Republican Youth Union. “Zubr” activists drew large letters “STOP Lukamol!” on the snow in front of the building of Barysaw BRYU Committee. Then they burnt fly-sheets with BRYU emblem.

On the end of the action Barysaw police detained Aliaksandr Monich, the participant of the European coalition “Free Belarus” Zmitser Barodka and the public activist Ihar Lednik. In Barysaw City Board of Internal Affairs the policemen made the detainees write explanations and composed reports for violation of article 167-1 of the Code of Administrative Violations (violation of the established order for holding of mass measures).
