In the beginning of January Christos Pourgourides gave time to the Belarusian authorities to answer to his memorandum “Disappearances in Belarus”. However, as Christos Pourgourides told RFE/RL, he had not received any response from the Belarusian authorities. He says that this fact only confirms that his memorandum on high-profile disappearances is well-founded. According to Christos Pourgourides, the final text of his statement can become a real ?#152;explosion’ for the civilized Europe.
“There is strong evidence that the Belarusian authorities are involved to abductions of people and concealment of these cases. As for concealment of the cases, there are more than enough proofs for that”, believes Christos Pourgourides.
Now he started preparing a final report. Christos Pourgourides made it clear that the text of this report could become tougher to the Belarusian authorities, which he is determined not to address anymore.

In the end of January PACE will assembly for its winter session, its Committee on Legal Affairs will discuss the final report by Christos Pourgourides.
