On the eve of the tenth anniversary of American President Bill Clinton’s visit to Belarus unknown criminals have destroyed the memorial sign – the gift of the American people to the Belarusians.
Two years ago the bench was restored by the Embassy of the USA in Belarus.
The fate of the memorial sign through these ten years was hard. “In 1997 this bench was destroyed for the first time. It has been damaged for four times only in the last three years”, chairman of the civil association “Kurapaty” Vaclaw Niamkovich told to Radio Liberty reporter.
